Worcester, Lou Borelli Octet plays a fundraiser for Wounded Warrior Project (1/28): Lou Borelli Octet plays mostly original arrangements from the Dave Pell Octet, one of the bands credited with the creation of the West Coast Jazz scene in the 1950’s. Shorty Rogers and Marty Paich were the first arrangers to showcase the unique sound of this group. We are honored to play these arrangements as a tribute to Don Fagerquist, a Worcester born trumpet player, who went out to the West Coast to play with the great bands of his time. The band has played at town concerts, Castle Restaurant Jazz on the Patio Summer Series, Ecotarium, Nick’s German Restaurant and Bar, Worcester Art Museum, Luciano’s, Tower Hill Botanical Garden, Higgins Armory Museum, Hanover Theatre, Tuckerman Hall, Country Clubs and private parties throughout New England. A recent quote about the octet from a music critic describes us very well. "Lou Borelli Octet was performing their Jazz routine for a drinking and dining audience, and if one closed their eyes and tapped into their imagination, they could picture themselves as a guest at one of Jay Gatsby's outdoor parties."...Pat Clark, The Weekend Starts Now, a publication of the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, May 2009. We appreciate your support of live music and especially jazz, which is art for your ears. Our first CD “Lou Borelli Octet Live at Nick’s” is available at our shows, www.CDBaby.com and www.Amazon.com.Lou Borelli Octet plays a jazz night at Fiddlers Green and admission charge will be donated to Wounded Warrior Project.

Lenox, March31-7, Healing of the Heart Sheng Zhen Qigong w Junfeng Li (3/31 - 4/7): hough science had made so much discovery in diagnose and curing disease, there is still no tools to measure evolution of consciousness, many QiGong masters like Junfeng Li, having cultivated their spirits towards higher consciousness, receive gifts of teaching and transformation from Divinity itself and are being called upon by the divine to transmit this knowledge to enlighten others and help alleviate suffering.

Master Li was head coach of China's National Martial Arts Team, 100+ kids won gold medals with him, had acted and directed in several martial arts films, and was an overnight sensation for playing the main role in the very popular film "Wu Ling Zhi" - Legends of [Martial Art] Heroes.

Yet Master Li continue to search for the internal peace and higher realm of self-realization, searching and study with many of the QiGong masters, cultivating Internal Qi. His sincerity and open heart, brought him not only pristine awareness, also he was “chosen” and passed on Heavenly Qi Gong and Tai Chi teachings, along with a philosophy of life that calls for the unification of all religions, caring for the planet, and saving of the environment. His teaching is passed on from teachings of Lao Tzu, Kuan Yin, Jesus, Muhammad, and other divine spirits.

At that time, China was not quite ready to receive what he had to offer, so the master was called to travel to the Philippines or Germany to start his teaching. Still with two young kids at home, Junfeng Li quit his Head Coach position with the Chinese government, forgoing his entire retirement/pension plan, and traveled to the Philippines with no prior arrangement of support or financial commitment of any sort, trusting only in the message of spirit that support for his work would be there when he arrived.

With such trust in divine consciousness, Master Li spent 14 years in the Philippines, where he began his lifetime dedication to teach Sheng Zhen Gong – the qigong of unconditional love that brings happiness and the “wisdom of life” to all beings ...
